Thornton Brothers Sponsors Athens Area Chamber of Commerce Mid Year Event

Thornton Brothers was pleased to once again sponsor the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce Mid Year gathering, “Meet, Tweet & Repeat” held at Bad Manor in downtown Athens on Tuesday, August 3. This year’s event expanded on the successful “Meet, Tweet & Greet” from 2009 to include a more in-depth look at social media and how it can help business.

More than 300 people attended the event which showcased a viral video detailing the benefits of joining the chamber of commerce. “Get plugged in” was the message as local business leaders explained how the chamber helps them plug into the Athens business community.

Thornton Brothers provided in-kind donations for the event which featured food from local restaurants including Mirko Pasta, Chick-fil-a, Barberitos and Lindsey’s Culinary Market. Other sponsors included Bad Manor, Athens First Bank & Trust, Athens Regional Medical Center, Georgia Power, Wachovia, St. Mary’s Healthcare System, Aaron’s, Athens Banner-Herald, University of Georgia, AT&T, Barron’s Rental Center, Jackson EMC, Power Partners, People’s Bank, JHouse Media, Hotel Indigo, and Coca-Cola.
