Common Industry Practices Trigger Proactive Response
Posted on Mar 7, 2010 by Thornton Brothers |
JanSan industry professionals are familiar with the commonplace industry practices that hold us and our clients back – namely volume discounts, order minimums, product substitution and so on.
Volume discounts force clients to order more than they need at any given time. This practice creates storage problems and can lead to product loss, damage or theft. In a similar way, order minimums force customers to have to consider product substitution or look to other suppliers to meet their needs.
Reviewing these and other customer concerns that stem from these commonplace industry practices lead the Thornton Brothers team to develop a new guaranteed availability initiative, G.A.IN. G.A.IN. streamlines the customer supply process by delivering products to customers in smaller quantities but at a more frequent rate, freeing up space and cash flow.
Based on the following principles,
- Guaranteed product availability
- Hassel-free inventory restocking
- Reduced inventory volume
- Lower risk of inventory damage or theft
- Lower risk of products becoming obsolete
G.A.IN. aims to increase cash flow for Thornton Brothers’ customers.
G.A.IN. looks to alleviate customer pains by simplifying the product supply process. In fact, G.A.IN. takes the hassle of ordering and restocking off of our customers by working through our automated inventory control system. The system transmits customer inventory data back to us on a regular, recurring basis. We monitor and track the data to determine optimum inventory levels and seamlessly maintain customer supply.
The beauty of the system is how it eliminates ordering on our customers’ end while ensuring availability. And, if for any reason, the products our customers need are not available through G.A.IN., we will pay you a penalty.
To date, our customers have been pleased with the new system because it alleviates the hassles associated with inventory control and management. We are pleased to offer this solution and take pride in the added convenience and value it provides to our customers.
